Que Lejos Estoy, 2016, video, 14 minutes

Investigates what happens to the Mexican traditions, identity and the ideologies of one family after three generations of assimilation into American culture. By bringing family photographs to life, Apodaca attempts to find why things have changed, how traditions were lost and asks what makes him who he is today. He explores the life of his grandmother, her parents and confronts his no-longer-living great-grandfather to learn if he would approve of how his family has changed. Streamed on PBS in 2016.
